Problem with xp access to remote domain

Hi, I have a machine with xp pro and a remote domain with win2000server/AD.
I have made with success join to domain (xp machine is connect to remote
domain through a vpn connection based on l2tp/ipsec and psk) but when I try
to view pc in remote domain I have a error message because I haven't
privilege ! but this is not possible because with same user/password I have
made join to domain.
If then I use:

\\server\shared

it's all ok !!!

Thanks.
Salvatore.

The credentials to make the VPN connection do *not* log you into the
Domain,...they only establish the connection, nothing more.

At the original Crtl-Alt-Del prompt you must enable the checkbox that says
"Log on using dialup connection". Then you log into the machine with your
domain credentials (third line must be the domain name not the machine
name). It will ask you which dialup connection you wish to use,...tell it
the proper VPN connection.

.. this is not a technical answer ! :)

In the DUN settings there is an option buried in there about using Windows
Domain Logon. Maybe using it, or combining it with what I mentioned last
time may help,...don't know,...just guessing at this point.

... unfortunately I have already tried both solution !! :-(
I think that only solution is to use a wins server.
... however thanks.
