Problem with Windows XP update

Hi,
I hope someone can help me: I just installed a Windows update that said that was supposed to stop someone from looking into my information. Now, I cannot open the attachements in my emails. I get a message saying I should "reinstall the programme". Help please! How can I uninstall the update or something?

If you are using Outlook Express, go to; Tools, Options, Security, Uncheck
"Do Not allow...", and OK. See if that works.
