Problem with Windows XP and Themes

Hello Everyone,

I have Windows XP Profession (SP2) and Office XP 2003.
I also have WindowBlinds V4 installed and this has a Windows XP Theme named
iSkin (Apple Mac Theme) which is really cool.

This theme integrates with Windows XP and in all other applications changes
the way that the controls look. The command buttons are even updated in the
Access User Log In Screen! I am having a problem on getting my forms to
inherit this look.

If in my Display Settings, I select Windows XP Style (for Windows and
Buttons) and Default Blue (for Colour Scheme), the buttons on my form do
change to the Windows XP Style (I have the Use Windows Themed Controls on
Forms check box checked).

I have looked into my problem in the Acces Help Files. I found the following
statement (in About Themes)

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Office Access 2003 supports theming in two ways.

Inherits the theme from the operating system

If the operating system is Microsoft Windows XP SP 1 or later, and you have
chosen a theme other than Windows Classic, Access will inherit the theme
from the operating system. Most of the views, controls (control: A graphical
user interface object, such as a text box, check box, scroll bar, or command
button, that lets users control the program. You use controls to display
data or choices, perform an action, or make the user interface easier to
read.), and dialog boxes will be customized to match the Windows theme.
Exceptions are reports (report: An Access database object that prints
information that is formatted and organized according to your
specifications. Examples of reports are sales summaries, phone lists, and
mailing labels.), diagrams, SQL view of a query (query: A question about the
data stored in your tables, or a request to perform an action on the data. A
query can bring together data from multiple tables to serve as the source of
data for a form, report, or data access page.), and modules (module: A
collection of declarations, statements, and procedures stored together as
one named unit. There are two types of modules: standard modules and class
modules.).
A control on a form (form: An Access database object on which you place
controls for taking actions or for entering, displaying, and editing data in
fields.) will not inherit the Windows theme, if its property settings are
different from what is listed below.

More info follows (but is irrelevant)...
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Now I have changed my theme to the iSkin theme and restarted my CPU (just in
case) and nothing. Controls are as per Windows Classic settings. Do I need
some file or something to point access to the correct controls or is it just
not possible to do this on any other theme apart from the Windows XP Theme
(if this is the case the help file is certainly misleading...)?

Any help on this subject is greatly apprecaited.

TIA,

Neil.

Hello All,

I have found the problem - Using WindowBlinds did not work but other theme
applications do work ok (Style XP for example).

Thanks anyway,

Neil.
