Problem with windows update.

I have a new IBM netvista that I had to use the factory
restore on to recover from a registry problem. The
restore went fine but now I cant do any of the Windows
Update. It just says "No Updates Were Installed" and
gives me a lsit of all the critical updates in red below
it.????????????

Any help would appreciated

It appears that when you restored, It restored before the updates. I ran
into that my self. I had to re-update.

I did XP Home upgrade recently--how can I establish whether or not
SP1 is in place?

Right click "My Computer",
choose properties. If you have SP1, it will say it there.
