The text of the error message may seem a bit cryptic but it usually means
that the downloaded file is corrupted.

The file can become corrupted during the transfer. Solution is to delete
the corrupted file and download a fresh copy. Sometimes the copy on the
download server is damaged and needs to be replaced. There is nothing you
can do in this case but wait for whoever does the server maintenance to
replace the corrupted file.

I just downloaded msicuu2.exe via the link in the MS Knowledge Base article
- saved it to desktop, then double clicked to run. It ran successfully so
it appears the server copy of the file is in good shape. Suggest deleting
the copy that you currently have and try downloading the file again.

Sharon,

Thanks - your advice worked perfectly! I thought this might be the case and
had downloaded it several times but always to the same location without
deleting the original. The download must not have overwritten the original.
