Hi

I've been running XP Home for the past 3 years.

SP2 installed a few months ago.

Out of the blue, the LOG ON window has changed.

I used to always go back to the Welcome Screen with
Windows Logo + L

Now when I do this another smaller screen appears
stating that only an administrator can unlock this computer
(I am the only one with admin status).

This means my wife can't use the PC unless I unlock it first.

Under Control Panel/User Accounts - I have tried variations with
'Change the way a user logs on or off'
Fast User Switching (this is from a reboot with only me logged on).

What I want to do is hit Win Logo + L and return to the Welcome Screen.

Any idea how I can achieve this?

Thanks in advance - Stephen

Stupid question here... when you looked at "change the way a user logs
on or off", was "Use the Welcome screen" checked?

Keying Windows logo + L is one of three options for utilizing "Fast User
Switching" - if fast user switching is NOT enabled Windows logo+L results in
a locked machine.
