PROBLEM WITH UPNP

Hi Jonathan Kay! I read this:

If that doesn't help and if you or your contact are using a router (with
UPnP support), you
may need to remove the current port forwardings. To do so, click Start, All
Programs,
Accessories, Communications, Network Connections. Right-click the "Internet
Gateway" (should
be under the Internet Gateway heading) and choose Properties. Choose the
Settings button,
click each 'msmsgs' or 'msnmsgr' entry and then choose 'Delete' to each one.
Then close
Messenger (right-click the Messenger icon, choose Exit), then restart
Messenger.

which you had written and when I follow it I don't see any port forwarding
at all. I have the last XP Pro Windows Messenger 4.7, a d-link di-604 upnp
enabled and I have upnp installed and the services universal plug n play and
SSDP Dicovery Service enabled, but it doesn't seem to work!!

Please help!

Greetings Cookie,

Try this, install MSN Messenger 6.x (http://messenger.msn.com/Download) and after running,
click the Tools menu, then Options, then Connection tab, and near the bottom under the
"Advanced Connection Information" look for the message indicating that you are or aren't
using UPnP.

I REALLY NEED HELP WITH THIS! I'VE SPENT AT LEAST 20 HOURS TRYING TO GET THIS
TO WORK!!

I've tried everything imaginable! Turning off QoS etc.

Like I said I have a DI-604 H/W D1 F/W: 3.06 and if I disconnect it and
connect my comp directly to the adsl modem i can use the webcam! As soon as I
connect the dlink it doesn't work! If I enable DMZ it works!

I've installed Universal Plug N Play in the Add/Remove items and I've
started the services SSDP Discovery Service and Universal PLug and Play Host
automatically! When I sign on Windows Messenger 4.7 and follow these
instructions:

http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod_id=1170&question=DI+604+UPNP

I don't see that Messenger has created any items in the Internet Connection
Settings Dialog! I don't understand why it doesn't and I think that this is
the problem as these ports are then automatically forwarded to the router
under Advanced -> Firewall (as soon shown on the web page)!

PLEASE HELP ME THIS IS INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING!

Hi Jonathan!

Is there any way I can contact you quicker, i.e through messenger? Also I

Hi Jonathan!

I did what you said and installed MSN Messenger 6.2 and it said that I was
connected through a UPnP enabled IP restricted NAT router!

Now how do I solve my problem of using WINDOWS MESSENGER and a webcam??! I
really need hel pwith this! It blows my mind that I have followed all the
steps and it still doesn't work no matter what I do! I've upgraded to the
latest firmwares as well and that doesn't help!
