Problem with turning off windows xp

I Have a very peculiar problem people.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the start Menu instead of "Turn Off" "Shut Down" is appearing. And
if click it the sytem shuts down. So, I cannot Hibernate or Stand By.

In detail...........
Now what one one usually does is that the click the turn off option
and and then a window appears requesting u to make any of the three
options that is stand by, turn off, or restart but in the startmenu
shut down appears and if i click that my compp shuts down directly
withour prompting me to stand bt or shut or restart,,,,


What to Do?
