Windows 7 problem with the ATPI internal jack... in windows seven..

hey frnds..

i have HCL leaptop B24 C2D.. i installed windows 7 around 8-9 mnths back..but recently from last 1 mnth my laptop stopped detecting headphones whnever i plug it in.. it dosnt matter if i have plugged in the headphones or not.. sound always comes from the laptop's speaker...
can anyone plzzzz help me out....
