Problem with 'Standby' mode

Hi,

I've only recently started to use the 'sleep' button on my keyboard
and at first it seemed to work ok. What is happening now, however, is
that when I bring it out of sleep mode (by pressing the button again)
desktop appears ok but when I click to launch my internet browser
(AOL) nothing happens - can anyone help please?

Hi, John.

Are you on broadband? I have ADSL. I've not tried to use my keyboard's
Sleep button, but when I use Start | Turn Off Computer | Standby, it goes
into Standby just fine. But when I come out, I have no ADSL connection at
all until I reboot.

I've looked for an answer, but it seems this is "just the way it is". I'll
be watching this thread to see if there is a better answer for both of us.

Hi RC,

I'm on el cheapo dial-up and because I had a hiccup a few days ago I
took to closing all programmes except those loaded at start up. It
seemed ok until today but having said that, I came in tonight and I
didn't have any problems at all!

I hope someone will be able to provide an explanation too!
