Problem with Shift key and Outlook Express

When I use the "Shift' key to select the symbols on the numerical keys,the
above symbols appear.

This only happens when sending emails,Word,Excel and Notepad all .OK

I am unable to return to the "normal"symbols.

Any help would be appreciated.

I see by your address you are in Australia. I am in the US ! @ # $ ^ & *
() _ + ARE the normal US English symbols.
What should they be in the land downunder?
Open Control Panel/double click Regional and Language Options/on the
Regional tab/click the V to expand/find English (Australia)/highlight
it/Apply/OK.

Is the above what you are looking for?
If so, try this: Open Control Panel/double click Regional and Language
Options/on the Languages tab/Details button/Settings tab/Add button/pick
Language/keyboard input. There are a bunch more options.
Go to help and type language/enter. Lots of info there.
