Keyboard / Shift key problem

Shift key on the left acts like a return key and won't allow anything to be typed when using it .... the shift ket on the left types a strange symbol ... help!

Hi Erik,

Control Panel/Regional and Language Options/Languages tab, click details. On
the settings tab, see if there is a keyboard language in use other than your
native one. Remove it if so, or change the default.

Alternately, if that is not the problem, you might try a new keyboard. If
this is a laptop, make sure the FN lock is turned off, as it could be using
that key to map other functions.
