problem with sending mail

Looks like either your internet provider's DNS server is down (in which
case you can't reach much of the internet) or you are using a server name
which doesn't correspond to any real server. Try the instructions for
Outlook Express first, but under Windows Mail instead.

If that doesn't work, you may want to download Windows Live Mail from
Microsoft and install it. It supports some connections that Windows Mail
won't.

I just purchased a new laptop with Vista. I'm using an aircard through
Verizon and the cheapskates don't include an email account. I want to use
windows mail and they suggested I set it up by using an account from gmail.
I followed the instructions from gmail on how to do it. It appears as though
I may not be able to because the new windows vista mail is not included in
their list like Outlook and other older versions are. I can't get an answer
from gmail. Mail sent from windows mail does not reach the recipient but a
copy of the mail goes to gmail. I can receive mail in the windows mail and
all mail sent from gmail also goes to the recipient and a copy to windows
mail. I am using Zonealarm for antivirus and firewall but don't believe that
is the problem because I can send mail to gmail account.
here is a copy of the error message sent back to me............This is an
automatically generated Delivery Status Notification

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:
