I cant send e-mails

I cant send e-mails. I got the information i needed form windows live which
is the e-mail provider im trying to use but whenever I try to send e-mails I
get this error:

Subject 'test', Account: 'pop3.live.com', Server: 'smtp.live.com',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '250 8BITMIME', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes,
Server Error: 250, Error Number: 0x800CCC7D

Tools - Accounts - youraccount - Properties - Servers
Under "Outgoing Mail Server" check the box next to "My server requires
authentication".

In addition to what Dave said to do:
Go to Tools, Accounts, select that mail account, Properties, Servers.
Uncheck the box for "Log on using Secure Password Authentication."
If you continue to get error messages, change port 25 to port 587.
