problem with search in this discussion group and a question

I have searched several times with the same text in the search for box and
sometimes I get items and sometimes I don't. Last night i was searching for
"document with multiple documents with headers" and I received several hits.
Since then I get no hits for this search. There was a thread about creating
a procedures manual and the solution that worked for this person. I did not
have time to study the thread, and now I can't find it. I have tried the
same search, I have tried to search "procedures manual", "manual",
"procedures" and can not find it. I ahve even resorted to paging through the
group to find the thread.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to find this thread?

Does anyone have suggestions on a best practice for creating a procedures
manual. I would like to maintain individual procedures compiled into a
single manual because we have several people writing them. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

The best suggestion anyone can give you is to tell you NOT to use the
Microsoft interface. Use a newsreader instead. As for searching the
archives, use Google Groups. (You could also use Google Groups to access the
group but I prefer using Windows Mail, Live Mail, or Outlook Express.)
