problem with recycle bin

It appears that my windows folder is randomly sent to the
recycle bin. It then appears full but when I open it, it
is empty. Though when I click on "empty trash", it asks
if I want to delete windows.
Anybody has the same problem? Thought it was a virus but
it's two months now and my anti-virus stil hasn't found
anything. I am desperate and I can't get any information
about this on windows knowledge database. Nor am I able
to send them my question :'(

To make a long story shorter.

Tried to empty the Recycle Bin.
Window popped up, "Are you sure you want to delete WINDOWS?"
That, gave pause for thought. No. I did not want to delete Windows.
Not at that time, anyway. ;o) Maybe later.
Created a couple of folders and sent them to the Recycle Bin.
Emptied the Recycle Bin.
The Desktop icon still showed that the Recycle Bin had something in it.

I finally ran Error Checking (Chkdsk). This is what fixed the problem for
me.

You probably have a corrupt file in the Recycle Bin.
Run Error Checking.

Scandisk is now Error-checking (chkdsk.exe).
Open My Computer, double-click the My Computer icon on the desktop.
Right click your hard drive | Properties.
On the Tools tab, under Error-checking, click Check Now.
Under Check disk options |
Check both.
Automatically fix file system errors
[[Specifies whether Windows repairs file-system errors found during disk
checking. All files must be closed for this program to run. If the drive is
currently in use, a message asks if you want to reschedule the disk checking
for the next time you restart your computer. Your drive is not available to
run other tasks while the disk is being checked.]]
Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors
[[Specifies whether Windows repairs file-system errors found during disk
checking, locates bad sectors, and recovers readable information. All files
must be closed for this program to run. If the drive is currently in use, a
message asks if you want to reschedule the disk checking for the next time
you restart your computer. Your drive is not available to run other tasks
while the disk is being checked.
If you select this option, you do not need to select Automatically fix file
system errors. Windows fixes any errors on the disk.]]

You have to reboot for Error-checking to run.

For a peek at the log.
Start | Run | Type: eventvwr | OK
Look in Application | Listed as Information
under Winlogon, Event 1001

Did run error checking and peeked at the log. It finds
nothing out of the ordinary. But is there a way to see
the entire log? Cause the path you gave me, I only see
the resume of things, just as shown at the end of
checkdisk.
Do you guys think I have to reinstall something? (I have
to reinstall my mouse's pilots anyways with instructions
from the windows support&troubleshooting page)
