Problem with Recovery Console installation

J

Jack Bowman

After using Winnt32.exe /cmdcons to install the recovery
console from my Windows XP CD, and allowing the dynamic
update to run, my boot options include "Microsoft Windows
Recovery Console", but I cannot arrow down to it, and the
default delay before the normal XP startup is 0 seconds.

I have repeated the installation, but there was no
change. My system is drive is E, rather than C and
perhaps this makes a difference. It is in fact part of an
effort to change this to C that I am trying to use
Recovery Console. I know that I can just run it from the
CD, but now that I have tried to install it, I do not want
to just leave it there non-functional.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thank you.

Use system properties, advanced, startup and recovery and change the time
out value to something else.
