Problem with re-installing eTrust AV

D

David

I've had to re-install Win XP Home, and subsequently all my programs.
When I tried to re-instal eTrust AV V6 I get a warning that Innoculate
6 has been detected and to use Add/Remove Programs to remove it before
I can continue.

That's as far as I get, problem is that there is NO Innoclate of any
sort installed, never has been. I've e-mailed CA, but thier responses
are glacial at the best of times and I'm not holding my breath.

These are not good times to be without AV protection. Any suggestions
very much appreciated.

Check these keys in the registry for any left-overs that need deleting.

From the XP Home setup did you delete all partitions and install fresh
or did you select to install over the last working installation? If
you are going to install fresh delete all partitions during the
install and create new partitions and go from there.

You accomplished nothing by updating a current install except that you
now need to reapply SP1 and all patches to get it where you where you
were before but all registry hives and partition info is unchanged.

Sorry ...
