Problem with printouts on HP LaserJet 5000

I have an HP LaserJet 5000 and on all our printouts we are getting
a blank horizontal line about 1 inch from the top of the page and on this
line there are 3 small square like marks that appear about 2 inches apart from
each other.
We have replaced any parts on this except for the toner catridge.
Should I buy a maintenance kit,not sure what to do?

This sounds like a printer driver problem, not a printer problem. Try
uninstalling/reinstalling the printer software.

Hi Adnan

[1] Do you print from more than one software program ?

[2] If answer to [1] is no: which program is that ?

[3] If answer to [1] is yes : does this floobie show up in prints from all of them ?

[4] If answer to [4] is no: which program creates floobied prints ?

[5] Has the printer always done this, or has it started recently ?

Corrupt driver is most likely, completely remove the driver and then
re-install. The other possibility is a bad printer cable. Do a self
test and you will see if this fault is repeated when the printer
works from one of its built-in test pages.

don't bother me with insignificiant nonsence such as spelling,
I don't care if it spelt properly

Hi. This just started occurring and it is happening with any software we use.
We've printed fine for the lasy year. I really think it is hardware not software
related.

Ok, I tried to reinstall the driver and the self test.
THe problem still occurs.

I know HP sells a user maintenance kit but it goes for like $300+.
I think we only need some type of cleaning kit to fix the problem,
as the line is getting a bit more faint.

Does HP sell cleaning kits or something similar?

Thanks.
