problem with passkey com bluetooth

Hi,

I have a problem with a bluetooth dongle (serial port virtual port).

I used to use it quite well untill I have installed the drivers for xp
sp2.

Now I can not donnect with my custom bluetooth device. It seems that
the problem is in the passkey.

The device works with no passkey, however, when I try to connect to it
a message shows up asking me for a passkey.

No matter what I type I receive an error message. Even so, for a while
the icon says that it is connected with the device.

Is it a normal behavior? Shouldn't it just connect without prompting
me? --as it did before the driver update :-(.

Also, it seems that I made a mess of my com ports since in the device
manager it says the a lot of ports are already in use (well, they have
been in use for few minutes...) and every time that a remove the
device it find it with an increasing number...

Any hint?

thanks

You may need to consult the company that has provided the dongle. I have
bluetooth capability on my tablet PC. The manufacturer has very detailed
directions on how to setup using the XP bluetooth drivers or the OEM
drivers (which they recommend over XP's). It sounds to me like this device
needs the original drivers or drivers from the same source that have been
updated to work within XP/SP2.

They just gave me a "one-sentence-answer" that did not work.

Thanks,

That's not a good sign. Have you checked their tech support pages online?
May be able to find documentation there that the support desk is... (being
nice) not sharing with you.
