Problem with Outlook e-mail

I keep getting this error message:


Task 'mail.xxxxx.xxx - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail
server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your
account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server
responded: -ERR Missing argument'

I put in the "x"s in place of my actual e-mail for privacy purposes. Does
anyone know why I am suddenly getting this? I haven't changed anything and I
tried removing and re-adding the e-mail.

Hi,
If your email address is (e-mail address removed) then try x in the user name if it does'nt
work then try the complete e-mail address that should probably resolve
unless your password is incorrect.

I am having the same issue. I downloaded internet explorer uipgrade and i
can connect using windows live messenger but not through Outlook. I have
deleted the account and re added to Outlook buit that does not work. Any
other ideas?

i changed it to hotmail\username and i get the same error. I did not have
this issue before downloading IE7. I may just roll it back to IE6 because
this is ridiculous.

Hi,
If you are using a hotmail account and if its a subscribed account then you
may have to install the Update.
