Problem with Outlook 2000

Whenever I try to delete a message in Outlook 2000 I get
this message:

The message interface has returned an unknown error. If
the problem persists, restart outlook.

What gives?

Could be corruption in the .PST file (if you're using a .PST file, as
opposed to, say, an Exchange mailbox). How large is the .PST file?
