Problem with organizing by color

I am using outlook 2002 and for some reason I get messages from outside the
company highlighted in red. I go to organize and change the color to black
and it says "done". But it goes back to red as if I didn't change anything?
And ideas?

Could the sender have marked them as Highly Important? Or Urgent - I think
one of these will set it to go Red.

It doesn't look like that is the case. It seems to color messages only from
outside the company addresses.
