Problem with obtain product key

this error:

currently 5am et.

Microsoft's servers are being pounded right now from everyone
downloading the RTM. Some people in the beta group are complaining
about the low download speeds they're seeing. That's probably why you
couldn't get through to get your product key.

MS really annoys me in this situation.
the download is obviously a burnable ISO/similar. they have hundreds if
not thousands trying to download RTM. why cant they use torrent?
not all torrents are illegal, and it would help drastically the
bandwidth issue.
all it would need is for MS to setup a private tracker with your MSDN
login for security, only give out the torrent details via official MS
pages (msdn/technet/whatever), and it not only takes load off MS servers
and saves them bandwidth in the long run, but helps the entire community
out by getting RTM quicker.

alot of linux releases are done this way for the primary reason of
bandwidth usage on the dl servers.

maybe even release an MD5 checksum tool, so you can download RTM from
any source you like, check it with MD5 to confirm file integrity, and
get the product key from MS themselves. humm...... maybe one of you MSDN
guys could run the download via md5 tool and give out the md5 checksum.
that way other MSDN people can get it via other sources etc.
*shrug* just an idea.

I got a consistent 650-750KB/second in my download (per-download, I was
getting a total of 1.4 megabyte/sec with the two downloads together).
People complaining must have slow internet connections at 'their end'.

I just finished downloading x86 and x64.. All I need now is the keys.
"Jerry" from the msdn concierge chat says they hope to have this fixed 'real
soon'.

Note: I can't currently even get into the download area on msdn or technet.
I'm guessing they're doing the equivelant of a reboot.
