(XP Pro System)
Day before yesterday, I found my network connection icons had disappeared,
so when I clicked the shortcut to get on the net, nothing happened. I tried
to set up a new connection with the New Connection Wizard; I got to the page
titled 'Getting Ready', selected 'Set up my connection manually' and clicked
Next. But when I got to the next page (titled 'Internet Connection') I find
the radio button 'Connect using a dial-up modem' is greyed out, and I'm stuck.
I also have a XP Home system and I'm thinking of copying Rundll32.exe and
hnetwiz.dll from C:\Windows\System32 in this system to the XP Pro. Would
this be a good, or bad, idea?
Or has anybody got any other ideas here? In the problem system, the modem
is working fine and I can establish a connection using HyperTerminal. The
AVG AntiVirus program scanned the system and reported no virus found
Thanks, and hoping
