problem with monitor after installing XP

Hi!
I 've installed XP SP2 on my PC where I had W2K before. Now I can use only
600x800 resolution. If I try to increase resolution it gives me error 'Out of
Range'.
When I open control-panel open Monitor folder it is showing 'Default
Monitor' and properties are greyed out so that driver can not be changed.
Also sound is not working because there is no audio device and it doesnt
dive the option to install audio driver.
How can I solve this problem ?
Thanks

Video driver from device manu web site or PC manu web site if OEM (eg
Dell/HP) or Laptop
Same for your sound device

First, install Windows XP compatible motherboard drivers. This will likely
take care of your audio problem as well as set the motherboard for correct
operation with Windows XP.

Then, install the correct video drivers.
