Problem with Microsoft Pinyin IME 3.0

Matt

I have a problem when I try to upload the Chinese IME using Microsoft Pinyin
IME 3.0. The following message appears:

"Windows could not properly load Chinese(PRC) - Chinese (Simplified) -
Microsoft Pinyin IME 3.0 keyboard layout".

And the IME is therefore not working in Chinese. I have no problem adding
and using Japanese, though.

I was told the only way to solve this would be to totally re-install
Windows, but of course it's annoying and really time-consuming. Does anyone
know of another way to solve this?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Matt,
Did you add the Chinese language in the languages on IE to be able to access
and use chinese langauge also did you install it in the multi-lingual pack on
your system?.
If not install on the IE try this:
Open control panel >> Double click on Networking and Internet Connections >>
Double click on Internet Options >> On the IE properties window on the
General Tab, click languages button and there on the Languages preference
click add button and add the chinese language.
Then on the View option the toolbar click Encoding and select the chinese
(PRC) .
Hope that what you are after.
Please write back.

Thank you a lot for your help, Nass.

I did both install the Chinese language multilingual pack on my system (I
tried to install the Microsoft IME in Japanese and this one works OK), and
also added Chinese in IE. In spite of that, it still doesn't work.

I'm thinking about making a Windows repair by booting the system with the
DVD, but I'm not really good in computer problems and I'm afraid to do more
harm than good.

If you or anyone else has another suggestion... Thanks in advance.

Cheers, Matt
