problem with Java

I have such a problem under IE6 SP2:
I open the site with Java applet and then I close IE. When I want to run IE
again it freezes. I looked at existing processes and it appeard that there
are two IE processes running and when I finish one of them(probably the one
with Java applet) IE starts working properly. I have latest JRE and JDK
installed. Please help me to deal with that problem. Thank you for all
replies- Tomek

Are you using Microsoft's Java plumbing or the Sun Java plumbing?

I have occasionally seen this behavior when Sun's little JRE coffee cup icon
loads into the system tray.

Exactly, that happens after the icon is loaded. I've disabled loading this
icon in Java control panel, but it didn't work.
What is plumbling? When can I find information about which plumbing I am
using? Should I change plumbing, and if yes how to do it? All Java components
that I have come from bundle containing NetBeans and jdk-1_5_0_01. Thank you
