IE6 problem with latest Java VM edition- multiple copies

Hi,
I am unable to run applets with IE6.0 after I upgraded Java VM to their
latest version J2SE Environment 5 Update 10.
When I open such web pages I am getting message: "Several Java Virtual
Machines running in the same process caused an error".
I tried to completely uninstall Java and reinstall it again, but I am
still getting the same error message.
It's interesting that after Java installation the verification goes
fine, but later on I am getting th eabove error message when I try to
run the installation verification.

I don't have Microsoft VM (at least it is not showing neither in the
Add/Remove program lists or in IE options).
I am not getting the above error message with Firefox and Netscape- so
I presume it is a problem with IE rather then Java.
Any ideas are appreciated.

Yes, I uninstalled the previous version. Version 6 is not supporting my
current OS (Windows XP SP1), so I decided not to take a chance. I wind
up unistalling version 5 and putting back version 4.
I did find out about the bug in version 5 (
http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/vie...33fffffffffa457daa2dd164e:YfiG?bug_id=6392705
) , but the proposed solution did not completely eliminate the problem,
i.e. sometimes Java worked OK, sometimes I was still getting the same
error message).
