problem with internet

i recently posted a problem which i got a response but the
help that i recieved i couldn't download it something
about my pathway or url is wrong but my problem is that
when i type in my url and enter button my url just stops
and an error comes up saying that my pathway is wrong or
something like above and my url changes from www.yahoo.com
to C:\searchpage.html how can i fix this!!!

Try downloading the shredder tool from the following web
site:

http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads/tools/CWShredder.exe

You can also try SpyBot Search & Destroy from:

http://www.safer-networking.org

If all else fails, you can run a free scan from either
McAfee or Symantec's web sites and see if they come up
with anything. I wouldn't recommend running it over a
dial-up connection, only if you have DSL.

I've seen this problem. I ran HiJack This and had to
delete a directory created by "searchpage". I don't
remember all the details but you can get a good start at:

or you could do a search for "C:\searchpage.html virus" in
Google. But you're going to need a tool like HiJack This
or CWShredder. You can find links to them at the website
