Problem with IE 6, XP SP2, and pop-ups

After re-imaging my PC with XP SP2, I find that sites where I want to display
a pop-up I can't. I've looked all over my system to turn off pop-up blocking
and still nothing. I don't have any pop-up blocking program installed on my
PC. Here's what I've done:

1. I turned off pop-up blocker in IE.
2. I added the sites with pop-ups to my trusted sites.

Any ideas please let me know.

Yeh this is good set of links to information about changes in SP2 but it
doesn't answer the original posters question, I also have the same problem
and tried lowering all security to minimum, disabling firewall, antivirus
(mcafee 8) and popup blocker and still fails to open the popup windows.

On my system the window opens and then closes straight away......

Now the strange thing is that on another system setup virtually identical to
my first system I have NO PROBLEM with the wanted popups.......(the popups
seem to be running javascript routines and having check Javascript is
functionin still same problem)

So what is going on ?

Any help in resolving this issue would be appreciated....

TIA

I appreciate your trying to help but you didn't address my question and just
giving me links is really of no help at all. If you can either give me a
direct answer or tell me exactly what link to follow then I'd appreciate it.

They all contain information which *may* relate to your problem, which is
why I posted them for you. Sometimes all "we" can do is point you in the
right direction since we can't make housescalls. <wink>

Well, I have this identical problem of wanted popups disappearing, in
IE6, with XP Pro and SP2, and would like to know if anyone has ever
found the cause of the problem or the solution to it.
