Problem with icon display - heeeeellllp

Hi !
I have installed a software which has associated his icon to every .ico
file. Than .ico files do not display as icon in explorer.exe. It is to say
that i would like windows explorer to display the picture of the icon as icon
for the .ico file.
For example, for an icon of Microsoft word (a .ico file), windows explorer
should display a W ans not the icon of the program which is associated with
..ico files.
Even if the program has been uninstalled, the problem does not disappear.
Please help me. thanks

Open Regedit and navigate to:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\icofile\DefaultIcon

Set the (default) value to "%1" without quotes.

the problem was probably StyleXP, the same happened to me,

it also corrupted its own theme.ini file so i cant change the look of the
explorer bar its no big deal as long as it works.
