Problem with domain name resolution

Im having a problem with my internet, im unable to go to any website by
typing the domain name, what i need to do is type the ip adress that point to
that domain for example if i try to go to www.yahoo.com it doesnt work but if
i do it with 216.109.118.79 it wll go the yahoo main page, the same if i do
ping it doenst resolves with the domain name but it does with the ip adress.
I donth think its an ie problem but anyway i tried to reinstalled it and it
didnt worked, i´ve also tried to remove winsocks and reinstalled tcp/ip
protocol. I know this is not an ISP issue because the last time i have this
problem i did a system recovery and it worked for a while. So what can i do?

Your DNS settings aren't right. DNS (Domain Name System) is what
translates a domain name to an IP address. Somewhere in your internet
settings is one or more IP addresses that point to your ISPs DNS
servers. These days those settings are usually made by the DHCP server
that tells your computer what it's IP address and other network
settings are.

Check with your ISP to find out what the correct address(es) is (are),
and put them in (Control Panel|Network Connections).

Have you tried flushing your dns cavhe? From a command prompt type "ipconfig
/flushdns" without the quotes.

You are not getting a DNS server from your ISP. In Network Connections,
right click the one you use, Properties, Highlight 'Internet Protocol
TCP/IP' and click Properties. Make sure you have both 'Obtain an IP
address automatically' and 'Obtain DNS Server address automatically'
selected
