Problem with Database Query from Excel 2003

DOOGIE

I am using Excel 2003 Professional and I am trying to query a SQL database
for values to import to a spreadsheet. I select Data, Import External Data,
New Database Query from the menu bar. I can connect to my external database
and can sometimes see the tables within the database. But then MS Query goes
to the background (sometimes immediately, sometimes after a few seconds). I
cannot restore MS Query, even though I can see it reduced in my title bar at
the bottom of the screen. I cannot right-click on MS Query and close it or do
anything with it. I have to close it from Task Manager. I have been unable to
find anything on this problem anywhere. I have reinstalled Microsoft Office
2003 Professional and this did not work either. Can anybody help me with this
please?

Hello Doogie,
I was also having exactly the same issue, what was causing
my problem was, my Logitech MX1100 mouse drivers, remove the mouse removes
the problem, the driver suite gives you the ability to automatically change
the mouse behaviour, depending on what office application you have open.

So if you have Logitech mouse, or non standard mouse, try unpluging it and
try a standard one.

Hope this helps, or point's you in the right direction.

Regards Roy
