problem with cd burning software

hi,
my freind is having a problem with his cd burning software, he highlights
the pictures to be copied, inserts a cd and then tells the software to copy
the items to disk.
The items are apparently copied but then a message pops up and says that the
items cannot be copied to the disk. The disk looks blank as no items are
listed however when I take out the disk from the drive and then reinsert it
the items are burnt to the disk. What could be causing this?

Better to use proper CD writing software.. Ahead Nero suite is as good as
any..
