Problem with Calendar

After attempting to archive e-mail, I ended up with two
Calendar folders in View Folder List, one under Archive
Folders and the other under Outlook Today. I could enter
new appointments to the former but not to the latter.
Unfortunately I deleted the former. The Calendar I have
shows all the appointments I had prior to archiving, but I
cannot enter anything new to it.

Also, many of my recurring entries (birthdays)are coming
up at once and indicating more than a year old, yet when I
examine them they show 2003 as the current year. For
example, my wife's birthday in August comes up as 53 weeks
overdue even though it was only a week or so ago.

Any ideas?

I can type the entry in the line after the time, but when
I hit Enter my entry just disappears.
