Actually, you are allowed to disable the local Administrator in WinXP
(but not in Win2k), but this restriction is temporary "lifted" for the
Administrator account if you boot into "Safe Mode", so this should be
the way out for the OP.

Unfortunately, the OP is using XP PRO, which you can disable the
Administrator account, and booting to safe and/or recovery console
mode will not lift the restriction. The OP will need to do either a
"repair" install of XP Pro or boot with the appropriate hacking
software and edit the SAM to reenable the current administrator
account http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/lostpass.htm
Remember XP Pro is designed for corporate use, where a back door of
booting into safe / recovery console modes would be a major security
calamity.
