Problem with 512MB Partition and XPe

The XPe runtime that I am creating must run on a 512MB CF. Since I do not
have this CF yet I try to simulate it with a Notebook HD that is formatted
with a 512MB partition.

I build the XPe on drive D: of my workstation. Then I connect the
partitioned and formatted Notebook HD to the second IDE channel and copy all
XPe image files on this HD. Then I connect the Notebook HD to my target
system and let XPe uncompress.

Thsi works fine as long as the Notebook HD has a bigger partition than 1GB.
If i make a 512MB partition either NTFS or FAT32, XPe starts not from this HD.

So, what is wrong? Only the partition size?

Is there a trick, to make a 512MB partition and copy XPe to it?

Is this 512MB partition on your note book a second partition? If so, you
will need to change the configuration settings and check the boot.ini file
on the first partition.

M,

As Slobodan mentioned, we need to know the specific errors you are seeing.

one thing you might check is your Boot partition size settings in TD...
there is a known bug when you set that value too close to the physical
partition size, the system will throw a licensing error at FBA...

other than that, please repost with the specific errors.

JC
