Problem when turned on

When i turn on the copmputer, everything runs normally
until the user log-on screen is supposed to come up, but
instead it just goes black. I have to restart for it to
work again. This always happens! Is there anything i
can do to fix this?

Seeing your subject line I wondered if this was a computer
problem. Sorry I just had to... Sounds like the BIOS is
posting fine. Do you have any SCSI devices? If running
2000 or XP have you tried the system repair utility? If
Win98 have you tried reloading system files? If Win95 it
will make a nice boat anchor and there are some nice
systems available out there.
