Problem when Changing or Cancel Recurring Appts.

I regularly schedule recurring appointment / meetings with no end date. For any one appointment, I will open a specific occurence of that appointment and summarize the discussion in the notes section. This creates an exception (recurring icon with slash). However, if I ever choose to cancel this recurring appointment (or change the end date for recurrence), I receive a warning that "Any exceptions associated with this recurring appointment will be lost." And that is exactly what happens. Any notes recorded in the Notes field of any previous instance of that recurring appointment are erased. Further, if I choose the "Cancel Meeting" button, it will erase all previous meetings from my calendar entirely

Is there any way to modify recurring appointments to discontinue their recurrence while still keeping the original instances and the Notes contained therein?

Thank you in advance for your assistance

Only change the instance you are canceling, not the series.
