Maintain previous record when deleting recurring events

How can I maintain a record of recurring events that have already occurred when I change or delete a recurring event?

Example: I'm changing a recurring meeting from Monday to Tuesday. I can easily create a new recurring event for Tuesday but need to discontinue the Monday event. If I delete the Monday recurring event Outlook deletes all instances, PAST and present of the event. I need to keep a history of my previous meetings but cannot figure out how to do this - I.e., delete all future instances of this recurring event but leave those that have occurred already.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't delete it, just change it so the occurances end when you want them to
end.

However, that will cause Outlook to regenerate the entire series and wipe
out any exceptions that have been added.
