Problem USB Port

It recognises my digital camera but refuses to see any memory stick,my
scanner is an unrecognised devise
and finally I tried USB mouse but while it initially sees it as a mouse it
cannot load it.I trie uninstalling the
USB controller but still no good.Any ideas.I only have 1 USB port on my
presario 2100 notebook.

You must install the software first - then plug in your device - then turn
on.
You did get software with the devices???

Never needed to insall Software for memory stick or mouse in XP.The problem
(I think)is related to items drawing power
from the USB port.The digital camera works in this port as it has its own
power source.How to resolve it?

Did you get your problem fixed?? I have exactly the same problem myself!

Until a wek ago my USB connections were working fine for my memory
sticks, scanner and nano ipod. Recently keep getting error message:
"USB Device not recognised" for all I try to connect. This does not
happen for one of my memory sticks, but does for three others. I can
download from my digital camera also.
