problem uninstalling old powertoys

first I need powertoys to resolve an itunes problem but it will not run. To
reinstall tweakui.exe MS says I must uninstall the old version, but I cannot
do that either. I get an error when I try to do that using Add/Remove in the
control panel. The error message refers to an invalid drive :\M, which at the
moment is not assigned to a drive (it would be the next assigned drive). I
have seen this somewhere in the past with another XP problem, but don't
recall what the problem was.
Please respond with some support on this very annoying problem.

I will give a potential answer to my own question. The original problem was
produced by the default location of My Document having somehow been changed.
By restoring the correct target, the itunes problem is solved. I have not
re-attempted to deal with the tweakui problem, but suspect it may be related
to the change in the My Docs location as well. I post this as a possible
answer for someone else with a similar problem.
