Problem stopping service

I am having a problem with a service (Crystal report Application Server) on
my server. The service was not resonding so I proceeded to stop the service.
The service now has a 'stopping' status and will not stop.

Rebooting will restart this service (this is happinging more often and have
had to reboot) but do not always have the opportunity to reboot this
production server.

Is there another way to kill the service so that I can restart it again?

Anyhelp would be geatly appreciated.

Paul, try to discover what is PID (Process ID) that Crystal Report Process -
task manager can help you).
After that, in a command line, use the command kill.exe (from Resource Kit)

kill <pid>.

This will kill the process and service can be stoped an start again.

there is no process running in the task manager for this app. This is a
service running in the services section.

Nevermind my last post. I found the process that was holding everything up
and killed it. Everything working fine now.

Thanks.
