Problem showing MPEG on laptop and projector simultaneously

Is it possible to simultaneously play an MPEG movie on both the laptop screen
and via a digital projector. When I try to do this, the movie just appears as
a black square on the slide. It does play correctly, however, when I select
output to the laptop screen only or to the digital projector only.

TAJ - I need your help. I was trying to post a new question - and for some
reason it won't let me...
OK - I have a new Gateway laptop. Tons more power than my previous laptop
and every program I need. My previous laptop showed video clips in my power
point presentations with no problem. This one - 1 in 10 times - it just
shows a black screen and sound. (Horrible if I'm presenting to 200 people!)
Could it be the widescreen/radeon thing in this laptop? My last one had a
regular screen. Could that trip this up???
Note - I am reducing resolution so that the pic looks normal through my
projector...but again - 1 in 10 times I get no pic at all. THANKS!

Are all the video clips the same type ?

eg. mpegs or avis or wmv ?

Cheers

Thanks, I found the answer on the page you directed me to. I reduced the
hardware acceleration in the advanced display properties until the problem
disappeared.
