Recently when I send attachments over 1.0 mb using Outlook
2002 I receive the following error message:
0x8004210B "The operation timed out waiting for response
from the (SMTP) server."

The strange thing is that although I receive an error
message and the attachment shows never having left my
Outbox, the recipient receives it (often several times as
I try to resend it). I don't have any problems sending
smaller attachments. Any ideas? Thanks!

Do you still have this problem if it's a ZIP file? I email large (10mb) ZIP
files as attachments quite often. No problem.

Have not tried zip files but I used to be able to send 1.0-
2.0 mb attachments without any problem. I'm tyring to
figure out what has changed.

It's better to zip any file that size - especially graphic files - as
they're much less likely to get mangled during transfer in the Zip format.
Emailing file attachments is notorious for messing up files.

I have the exact same problem. Is there a solution

I got the same problem with OL2003 and it is the same when I send a zip file. I really would like to know what is going on. I did not used to have this problem before.

What kind of problem do you have ? Any error messages ? I often sent 5-10
MB files and all is OK. It might be your ISP that is limiting you or you
might have to increase the server timeout.
