Problem removing program

When I go to remove a program I get the error
message "could not open INSTALL.LOG file. Can anyone
help? Microsoft article acknowledges problem, but have
not updated article since October 2002.
 
you can try booting into safe mode and try removing it
from there, or just reinstall the problem and then try to
remove it again
