Windows XP crashed on me two weeks ago after installing
an update. After all else failed, I reinstalled Windows
XP Home Edition through the repaid mode. During
installation, two error messages appeared which I will
list at the end. Windows XP then worked fine, until I
tried installing SP1. What happened then is that Windows
keeps rebooting, never getting past the Windows logo
screen with the moving bars at the bottom. I tried the
whole process over again with the same result. While I
can certainly run XP without SP1, I am worried about
security problems. Any ideas?
The error messages which come up during the Windows
reinstall are as follows:
COM+ Setup Error
Sub-component COM+ raised an exception while processing
the OC_COMPLETE_INSTALLATION setup message.
d:\nt\com\com1x\src\complussetup\comsetup\csetuputil.cpp
