problem opening existing site on new computer

Hi there -
I have been using FP2003 for a couple of years now. I moved up to a new
computer, and can't figure out how to open my site.

Current steps:
1) installed FP2003
2) copied entire directory tree from old computer to new
computer - starting at parent of WEBSHARE
3) Used "Open Site..."
4) Navigated to my site (WEBSHARE/WWWROOT/mySiteName) and clicked "Open"

I get the dialog box about adding FrontPage information to the folder. I
don't know why - I copied the entire tree down. But, it says "FrontPage
needs to add information to your folder in order to help manage your
Hyperlinks and other Web site content." So I click "Yes".

And I get another dialog:
"The folder 'path to mySiteName' is contained by a server-based Web
site. To access this site you must use the http://url for the Web server.

And I get one more:
"The URL 'path to mySiteName' is not contained within a Windows
SharePoint Services site."

Why? What am I doing wrong? All help greatly appreciated!

Sorry, forgot some details:

Windows XP (running in VMWare Fusion on my Mac)
FrontPage 2003
I store all files locally and ftp them to my server

Sounds like the old PC used a webserver for the website, and the new PC
doesn't.
Create a folder on the web site and Publish the old site to it. Or
install IIS and FrontPage extensions and publish the site to
http://localhost - whichever method you use Publish is the keyword, not
copy.

Thanks for the tip, I'll look at the link - but I'm not sure what
you mean by "used a webserver for the website". I keet all the files
locally, and "Publish" when I make updates. Strange terminology, to
me... time to RTFM, I guess.
