problem open Save HTML file

Hi,
Last year I have no problem opening my Save as Web Page HTML file -- using IE6 without SP2.
Now with SP2 installed I got this error message:

"This presentation contains content that your browser may not be able to show properly.
This presentation was optimized for more recent versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
If you would like to proceed anyway, click *here*."

I click it and only black center viewing area with left and bottom pane white visible no text no images.

Please help.

NO, they know nothing there about PowerPoint. If this NG cannot help me then maybe this is the first time?

Let's forget IE6 BUT if you open an HTML file as saved by PowerPoint isn't it - it also uses IE browser?

I hope my 2 questions will clarify my point. Please do NOT post this kind of response if it never happen to
you or cannot duplicate the problem I got here.

My problem concern PowerPoint and I saved a new presentation for web uses. It has a main and a sub-folder.
In the main folder it has one file called "all_parents'_wishes.htm". I click that file and it refuses to come
out in my IE6. Question: could it possible SP2 causes this? I tried to open similar old HTM files and the
same problem happened (read original post).

My PowerPoint function well, I've no problem at all except I could not open ALL .htm files. PLEASE
HELP - try again ;o)

YES! Steve -- you're 100% correct on that BUT still my presentation stop on opening.
I want to take out that new IE protection -- I really don't need it in my machine. I've no
problem before I install SP2. That yellow bar always causes me much delay in showing
my ppt & pps shows. Thanks for your new info and added clarification. --Rino

I've seen this or something similar. Don't click where it says to.

Instead, look at the top of the page. You'll probably see the yellow bar indicating that IE has
blocked a popup or some other active-x content that could harm your computer.

MS takes aim, shoots foot. Yours.

In the yellow bar, there's a thingie you can click to allow the content to run. Click it and you
should see the PPT presentation you're used to seeing.

Here's what I did:
1. Do not click the 'X' to close the yellow bar.
2. Click here for options ...
3. Choose "Allow Blocked Content ... > YES
4. Click Slide Show (inside my presentation)
5. Repeat #3 above.

Oh boy! Why Microsoft put too much of .... oh, never mind.
Do you know how to take this over-protection out? Anybody? PLEASE!

I'm sorry you don't like my response. Fact is, it's an IE problem. I'm glad
Steve was able to give you information that helped you work through it, but
I'd imagine you'll still need to ask in an IE group about removing the
various security stuff from IE.

Glad you found the magic bits ... good work.

You might want to look through the zillions of options in Tools, Options, Advanced too.
You can probably turn the whole feature off there. For more details on that, Echo's right ... the IE
newsgroup will probably have more answers for you, but now you're on the right track, you can probably
work out the rest on your own.

Thanks again Steve! You really a MVP! Your suggestion is absolutely correct! I found the fix to disabled my yellow Information
Bar BUT I cannot post how because as you've said "zillions of options" to be enable or disable. Time and posting space prohibit me
but I'm pretty sure anybody shall find their own solutions or fixes.

I liked your style and ONLY you utilized the whole monitor space and this will make each posts much smaller in size. Hope my long
sentences will not scramble and it is under your good care.

Too much noises in microsoft.public.windowsxp.general - I hope MVP Echo know it for "know nothing NG".
